We did not sign up for or use the other tools here: what follows is read from their own public pages on the dates shown, with stated facts kept apart from marketing claims. How we review.
Good fit if
- Teal, if you want unlimited free PDF exports and a paid plan you can buy for 7 days.
- Teal, if you want stage-by-stage e-mail templates and video interview practice in the same account.
- Huntr, if you want phone apps, a map of the companies and DOCX export.
- Huntr, if you want a resume tailor whose FAQ says it cannot invent titles, numbers or skills.
Look elsewhere if
- Neither, if you want the tool to apply for you: Teal says it does not submit applications, and Huntr's autofill leaves the submitting to you.
- Neither, if you want a match against a job description with ATS detection: Jobscan does that.
- Neither, if you want a refund you can count on: Teal's terms could not be read and Huntr's are discretionary.
The short version
Teal and Huntr sell the same pairing: a board of the jobs you are pursuing, and a resume builder that tailors to each one. They differ in where the free plan stops, in file formats and in how they bill. Neither was used for this page; every line comes from the two companies’ own pages. Teal’s pages refused automated reading on 31 October 2026, so its lines are from 30 October.
The tracker
Huntr’s board holds notes, dates, tasks and salary details for each job, with contacts beside them and a map of where the companies are. Its Chrome listing also mentions logging activities for weekly unemployment claims. Jobs come in through the Chrome Job Clipper or the iOS and Android apps. The free plan tracks up to 100 jobs.
Teal’s tracker comes with e-mail templates for each stage of the search, and its Chrome listing names goal setting, salary information from job descriptions, follow-up reminders and bookmarked contacts and companies. The extension saves jobs from more than 40 job boards, and Teal also has a job search of its own. Whether Teal has phone apps could not be confirmed.
The resume side
Teal’s free plan edits and exports unlimited resumes as PDFs. Its AI rewrites the summary and bullets with the job description’s wording, and Auto-Select picks the experience it judges most relevant. Free shows the top five keywords of a posting; the full list and a match score are Teal+.
Huntr’s free plan includes unlimited base resumes with PDF export and 2 job-tailored resumes. Its tailor rewrites bullets, explains each change, and its FAQ says it cannot invent titles, numbers or skills. Its match score rates coverage as poor, fair or great. Saved versions export as PDF or DOCX.
Letters and interviews
Teal’s free plan has two cover letter credits, and it offers video interview practice with live transcripts and AI feedback. Huntr’s free tier covers a few cover letters, and its interview question generator, with STAR answers from your resume, is priced with the $40 a month plan.
Price and leaving
Teal+ is billed every 7 days at $13, every 30 days at $29 or every 90 days at $79, and no card is needed to start. Its refund and auto-renew terms could not be read.
Huntr Pro is $40 a month, $90 for 3 months or $160 for 6 months, with no trial. You cancel in account settings and keep the plan to the end of the period. Refunds are discretionary: a request within three days of the latest charge, after at least two billing periods, may qualify, and none is given after 14 days from the last invoice.
For a short, busy search, Teal’s 7-day period is the smaller commitment. For a long one tracked on a phone, Huntr’s apps and 6-month price may fit better.
