What Jobscan does

Jobscan compares a resume with a job description. Each scan returns a Match Report: a match rate out of 100 for that job and the gaps it found. Give it the company name or the job URL and it also names the employer’s applicant tracking system and tailors its guidance to that system. You can upload a PDF or DOCX, or paste the text.

Around the scanner sit a resume builder, AI Optimize, a cover letter generator, LinkedIn profile optimization, a job search, a job tracker, mock interview practice and a credit-based Auto Apply.

The free plan

Free gives you 5 scans a month with the full Match Report and the match rate, the resume builder and the job tracker. For someone applying to a handful of roles a month, that may be all of Jobscan they need.

The tracker holds applications, saved listings and interviews, and each card shows its match rate. The Chrome extension, updated on 12 October 2026, saves jobs from boards such as Indeed, LinkedIn and Glassdoor into it and scans your resume against a listing.

Premium and AI Optimize

AI Optimize suggests skills and alternative bullet points for a job description. Every suggestion waits for you to accept or reject it, and the optimized resume downloads as a DOCX. Its page called it part of Premium on 30 October; on 31 October the same page did not say, so check before you rely on it being free.

The cover letter generator needs an account. It is free during the 7-day trial and part of Premium after that.

Interview practice, with video or audio answers and AI feedback, is an add-on outside the standard subscription, and its page does not state a price. LinkedIn optimization checks your profile against job postings; its page says full access often requires payment.

Price, trial and leaving

Premium is $49.95 a month. The quarterly plan is $89.95 every 3 months and comes with a 7-day free trial, which places a temporary $1 authorization hold on your card. Cancelling during the trial costs nothing.

After the trial, the terms are strict. Billing continues on your cycle until you cancel, cancelling gives no automatic refund, and the account drops to free at the end of the period. A refund is possible only if you dispute a charge within 2 calendar days of the billing period’s start and have not used the service in it, decided case by case, less a 3.5% fee. Put the trial’s end date in your calendar.

The Auto Apply part

Jobscan also sells Auto Apply on credits: it matches you with jobs on Greenhouse, Lever, Workable and other systems, fills details from your resume, and leaves the review and the Submit to you. One credit is one job, Premium users are topped up to 2 credits a month, and packs start at $8.50 for 5. It is a small part of what Jobscan charges for; the scan is the product.

The claims

Jobscan says its users land three times more interviews and that over 10 million job seekers trust it. Neither can be checked from its public pages.
