We did not sign up for or use the other tools here: what follows is read from their own public pages on the dates shown, with stated facts kept apart from marketing claims. How we review.

Good fit if

  • Jobscan, if you scan each posting before applying and want a match rate and the gaps for that job.
  • Jobscan, if you want to know which applicant tracking system the employer uses.
  • Resume Worded, if you want feedback on the resume itself, line by line, before you tailor it.
  • Resume Worded, if you want a yearly plan: $229 for a year.

Look elsewhere if

  • Neither, if you want a resume builder with templates: Jobscan's core is the scan, and Resume Worded offers Word and Google Docs templates instead of a builder.
  • Neither, if you want to try the paid plan and ask for your money back later.
  • Neither, if you want interview practice included: Jobscan sells it as an add-on, and Resume Worded's pages read do not mention it.

What each one scores

Jobscan compares a resume with a job description. Each scan returns a Match Report with a match rate out of 100 for that job and the gaps it found. Give it the company name or job URL and it names the employer’s applicant tracking system and tailors its advice to it.

Resume Worded’s Score My Resume rates the resume itself out of 100, with line-by-line feedback. Its Targeted Resume check then compares the resume with a pasted job description and shows matched and missing keywords.

Neither company publishes how its score relates to what an employer’s system or recruiter decides. Each score is that vendor’s model. Neither tool was used for this page; every line comes from the two companies’ own pages, Jobscan’s monthly price and free scans from its pricing page as read on 30 October 2026.

What is free

Jobscan’s free plan gives 5 scans a month with the full Match Report and match rate, a resume builder and a job tracker that shows a match rate on each card.

Resume Worded’s first review is free, and you can re-upload the resume free. Its terms describe the free tier as part of Score My Resume and a subset of resume lines; the full report is Pro. The exact free limits beyond that wording are not known.

Fixing the gaps

Jobscan’s AI Optimize suggests skills and alternative bullets for a job description, and every suggestion waits for you to accept or reject it; the result downloads as a DOCX. Resume Worded’s AutoFix rewrites weak lines from your own experience, and you approve each change. Both leave the final word to you.

Beyond the resume

Both review LinkedIn profiles: Jobscan checks a profile against job postings, and Resume Worded’s full LinkedIn analysis, with keywords and networking templates, is Pro. Both write cover letters; Jobscan’s generator is free during its trial and Premium after.

Jobscan also has a job search built on Indeed’s API, a Chrome extension that saves jobs and scans a listing, an interview practice add-on with no stated price, and a credit-based Auto Apply. Resume Worded’s pages read do not mention a tracker, interview practice, an extension or phone apps.

Price and leaving

Jobscan Premium is $49.95 a month, or $89.95 every 3 months with a 7-day free trial that places a $1 hold on your card. Billing continues until you cancel, and cancelling gives no automatic refund.

Resume Worded is $49 a month, $99 every 3 months or $229 for a year, paid through Paddle. Billing continues until you cancel, and confirming the cancellation is your responsibility.

Both make refunds hard to get, as set out in the questions below. If you only need a few checks, use both free tiers before paying for either.
