We did not sign up for or use the other tools here: what follows is read from their own public pages on the dates shown, with stated facts kept apart from marketing claims. How we review.

Jobapplier: read on 2026-10-31 from its public pages and public plans API on jobapplier.co, signed out, and from its code. The signed-in features are described from the code and its documentation, not from a hands-on run, and no application was sent for this site.

How we ordered this list

  1. Whether the checker explains what its score measures.
  2. Whether it checks the resume against a job description you give it.
  3. How much you can check for free, and how often.
  4. The paid price and the stated terms for leaving: trial, renewal, cancellation and refunds.
  5. What it helps you do with the gaps: keyword lists, rewrites you approve.

No scores and no ratings: the order follows these criteria, applied to what each product's own pages state.

How this list was made

The order follows the criteria above, the first weighing most: a checker that says what it measures and checks against a real job description comes before one that does not. Every line comes from each checker’s own pages; none was used for this page. Teal’s lines are from 30 October 2026, as were Jobscan’s monthly price and free scans.

What these scores are

An “ATS score” is the checker’s own measure, not something an employer’s system reports. Jobscan gives a match rate out of 100 against the posting. Resume Worded scores the resume itself out of 100 and adds a targeted keyword check. Resume.io runs 16 checks and Enhancv 27. Huntr gives a band, poor, fair or great. Teal gives keywords free and a match score on Teal+.

Jobapplier is on the list for a different kind of match. It does not check how a resume is laid out. It scores each job in its own listings against your profile and your resume against that posting’s skills, read by a model trained on job postings. It lists English-language postings only and is a young product with no outcome data to show.

What is free

Jobscan: 5 scans a month. Resume Worded: the first review and re-uploads. Resume.io: the basic grade, for an e-mail address. Huntr: basic match scoring. Teal: the top five keywords. Enhancv: 7 days. Jobapplier: its scores on every plan.

Acting on the gaps

Jobscan’s AI Optimize and Resume Worded’s AutoFix both leave each suggested change for you to accept. Enhancv’s tailoring does the same. A checker that lists missing keywords is only useful if the keywords are true of you; add the ones you can back up.

Leaving

Jobscan’s refund window is 2 calendar days into a billing period, for an unused service, less a 3.5% fee. Resume Worded gives first-time buyers no refund. Resume.io’s trial renews at $29.95 every 4 weeks. Read the terms before you pay.

Auto apply
Auto Apply matches the user with jobs from Greenhouse, Lever, Workable and other ATS platforms and fills details from the resume and profile. [source]
Its pages do not say
Auto Apply fills and submits applications for the person; requests take 1-3 business days, run on credits bought as extra plans, and take no custom cover letter. The page names no job boards and no review step before submission. [source]
Resume Distribution sends the resume to 50 recruiters a week (200 a month) in the US, EU, UK, Australia and Canada. [source]
Its pages do not sayIts pages do not sayIts pages do not say
The Agent applies only to jobs that fit one of the person's Apply rules and none of their Skip rules, on the single-page forms of eleven systems: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Recruitee, Rippling, Breezy, Teamtailor, Pinpoint, BambooHR and Personio. [source]
A new account starts with one Skip rule (scores below 70) and no Apply rule, so nothing is sent until the person writes one. [source]

The resume tailor page lists the extension's autofill as covering 9 ATS platforms, without naming them. [source]

The autofill page names LinkedIn, Indeed and employer websites; where a field does not fill, the user adds the detail. [source]
Its pages do not say
The Chrome extension fills forms on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday (multipage), iCIMS, SmartRecruiters and many other career sites; every AI-written answer is marked. [source]

In the extension the person presses Submit, the panel's Submit Application or the form's own; the extension never submits by itself and waits while a required field is empty. [source]
Before the Agent presses Submit it takes a picture of the filled form; Review shows each question with the answer that went. [source]

Jobscan's job search jobs come from Indeed's API. [source]

Browsers and extension
The Chrome extension (Jobscan, version 2.2.11, updated October 12, 2026) saves jobs from boards such as Indeed, LinkedIn and Glassdoor to the tracker and scans the resume against a listing; it does not mention autofill. [source]

Questions

What is the best free ATS resume checker?

For a free check against a job description, Jobscan's 5 scans a month. For free feedback on the resume itself, Resume Worded's first review with free re-uploads. Resume.io's basic grader is free with an e-mail address.

Are ATS resume checkers accurate?

Each checker scores by its own model, and none of the pages read shows how its score relates to what an employer's applicant tracking system or recruiter decides. Use a score to find gaps, not to predict an outcome.

What score should I aim for?

No checker here publishes a target that is tied to employers. Resume.io's page claims a 90% score doubles your chances, with no method given. Kickresume's paid checker counts 75% and up as good. The others do not publish a target on the pages read.

How was this list made?

From each checker's own pages, against the criteria above. No resume was scored for this page, and the page gives no scores of its own.
