We did not sign up for or use the other tools here: what follows is read from their own public pages on the dates shown, with stated facts kept apart from marketing claims. How we review.
How we ordered this list
- What the free plan lets you download: the format, how many, and whether it carries the builder's branding.
- What the AI may change in a resume, and whether you see or approve each change.
- Which export formats there are, Word included.
- The paid price and the stated terms for leaving: trial, renewal, cancellation and refunds.
- What else comes in the account: a score against a job description, a tracker, cover letters, interview practice.

How this list was made
Every line here comes from the builders’ own pricing, feature and help pages; none of the builders was used for this page, and there are no scores of our own. The order follows the criteria above, the first weighing most. Teal’s pages refused automated reading on 31 October 2026, so its lines are from 30 October.
What “free” means here
Free plans differ more than prices do. Kickresume’s free plan downloads as many PDFs or DOCX files as you want from 4 basic templates. Teal’s exports unlimited PDFs. Huntr’s exports unlimited base resumes as PDFs. Rezi’s allows 3 PDF downloads of 1 resume. Enhancv’s lasts 7 days and carries its branding. Resume.io’s pricing page says its free download is a TXT file, while a help article also names a PDF in one template.
What the AI changes
A builder that rewrites your bullets can also add claims you cannot back up. Kickresume’s page says its AI works only with what is already in the resume, and it reports each change. Huntr’s FAQ says its tailor cannot invent titles, numbers or skills. Enhancv asks you to accept or reject each edit. Teal rewrites the summary and bullets with the job description’s wording, and its pages do not list what it leaves alone, so read each rewrite.
Leaving
Check how each one bills before you start. Resume.io’s $2.95 trial renews at $29.95 every 4 weeks. Kickresume’s subscriptions renew automatically, and its money-back guarantee is once per user. Enhancv does not refund a used monthly plan. Huntr’s refunds are discretionary. Rezi’s Lifetime plan has no renewal at all.
Who should look elsewhere
If you already have a resume and want it rewritten for each job you apply to, a builder may be more than you need. Jobapplier does that for each posting it lists, but it has no templates, makes one-column PDFs only, with no .docx, lists English-language postings only and allows 2 tailored resumes a day on its Free plan.
