We did not sign up for or use the other tools here: what follows is read from their own public pages on the dates shown, with stated facts kept apart from marketing claims. How we review.
How we ordered this list
- What the free plan downloads: the format, how many, and whether it carries branding.
- How the trial and renewal work, and what the refund terms say.
- Which export formats the paid plan adds.
- What the AI may change in a resume, and whether you approve each change.
- What else the account holds: a tracker, cover letters, interview practice.

Why people look past Resume.io
Resume.io’s trial costs $2.95 for 7 days and then renews at $29.95 every 4 weeks, which is 28 days rather than a calendar month; trial pricing is available once per account. The free plan gives one resume and one cover letter, and its pricing page says they download as TXT only, a file with no layout. A help article also names a PDF in the Vancouver template, so the two pages disagree.
Its refund terms come in three versions: a 7-day money-back guarantee on the pricing page, refunds only within the first 7 days of account creation in the help centre, and no refunds in the general terms, with a 14-day right of withdrawal for EU residents. Choosing a subscription extension instead of finishing a cancellation leads to a renewal charge.
How the list is ordered
The criteria above set the order, the first carrying most weight: what you can download without paying, then how the billing works. No tool here was used for this page; every line comes from its own pages, and where a page contradicts itself the page says so.
What each one does instead
Kickresume has no separate trial: it is free until you choose a paid option. The free plan’s 4 templates download as PDF or DOCX with no cap, its iOS app page says the apps export without a watermark, and its tailoring tells you each change it made. Its terms, dated January 2024, call subscriptions non-returnable apart from a money-back guarantee that applies once per user.
Teal’s free plan exports as many PDFs as you make, and a job tracker comes with it. Its pages refused automated reading on 31 October 2026, and its refund and renewal terms were not readable before that.
Rezi’s Lifetime plan is one payment of $149. Its free plan is tight, 1 resume and 3 PDF downloads, and its cancel and plans pages disagree on whether a cancelled subscription ends at once or at the end of the period.
Huntr is a tracker first, with a builder that exports base resumes as PDFs free. Pro is $40 a month; refunds are at its discretion.
Enhancv gives every template on a 7-day free plan, with its branding and at most 12 section items. After that it is Pro, and a monthly plan used in its period is not refunded.
What Resume.io does that these may not
Resume.io’s longer 6-month and yearly plans drop to the free plan when they end instead of renewing, and some of its templates export to Word. Its ATS scorer runs 16 checks, with a free basic grade. If those matter more than the trial, cancel the trial before day 7 and stay.
